You talk to lots of AIs, and each one forgets you the moment you open another app. Mindbaton keeps one memory on your own computer, and every AI you use can read it.
How it works
It listens
A browser extension saves what you tell ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and others. Coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor save to it directly.
It remembers
Everything lands in one memory on your machine, sorted into topics by itself.
Every AI can ask it
Any AI can look up what you told the others.
It passes the baton
When a chat gets too long, it packs the chat up so a different AI can carry on.
What I care about in it
- No cloud, no account, no subscription. A small Python program and one database file.
- Its own small model is 1.3 GB and was trained only on made-up examples, never on anyone's messages.
- API keys and passwords pasted into a chat are blanked out before anything is saved.
The hard part
A memory that needs a cloud AI to read your chats is neither private nor offline.
Plain rules and a built-in table of word meanings do the understanding. A small model of its own reads only what the rules miss, and the rules check every fact before it is saved.
On sentences it had never seen: 28 of 30 facts caught, none made up.
Built with

That is Mindbaton.
Read to the end, and its shape is yours.
